In order to allow the students to learn and experience the development achievement of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Lui Che Woo College organised a visit to Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge on 25 August 2018 with around 42 participants. As an expert on materials engineering, College Master Prof Yip Ming-Chuen conducted a brief introduction to the participants on the challenges of a bridge-tunnel system construction and its remedies by explaining profound theories in simple language.
They were honored to be guided by the representative of the Bridge Authority for a site visit to the bridge and the west artificial island; detailed information on different aspects about the complex construction process, management and operational challenges were introduced to the staff and students. They considered this visit as a valuable experience to widen their horizons on world class engineering and it aroused their interests on the potential economic impact and the new opportunities that lie ahead in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

為讓學生切身感受粵港澳大灣區發展成果,澳門大學呂志和書院於2018年8月25日舉辦參觀港珠澳大橋活動,約42位師生參與。

在前往大橋的巴士上,葉院長從力學專家的專業視角,深入淺出地為師生們介紹了港珠澳大橋的建設工程,分析了建設過程中需要克服的工程問題及解決方法。港珠澳大橋自2009年動工至2018年2月全線竣工,作為全球最長的橋隧組合三線雙程行車的跨海通道,其設計及施工需要克服颱風、航道、潮汐等物理難題,以及粵港澳三地共建的建設管理問題。葉院長感歎大橋工程為之不易的同時,也期望院生們能珍惜是次參觀這一世界級工程的機會,感受國家建築工程事業的不斷創新發展。

大橋管理局負責人帶領師生經珠海連接線一路行至大橋西人工島,為師生們實地展示了大橋的設計建設,並通過觀看紀錄片讓師生們進一步瞭解建設過程。負責人認真解答了同學們關於大橋正式通車的運營及管理問題,並表示管理局一直致力於優化管理方案,希望能最大程度服務粵港澳,推動粵港澳地區交通運輸與經濟的進一步發展。

能在正式通車前實地參觀港珠澳大橋,呂志和書院的師生們都表示非常興奮。就讀于金融專業研二的RT張奉嘉同學表示,這次參觀是一次意義非凡的體驗,即使之前對於橋樑建築、工程力學一無所知,也深深地被大橋壯觀的規模、繁複高難度的工程與未來正式通車的深遠意義所震撼。就讀於工商管理二年級的丁文彥同學也表示,港珠澳大橋的通車縮短了三地往來的耗時,推動粵港澳三地的進一步交流,相信會為三地的經濟發展帶來新的機遇與挑戰,也為我們學生創造更多的就業機會。
