On April 1st, the University of Macau’s Lui Che Woo College (LCWC) welcomed a distinguished delegation led by Professor Alan Short, Professor of Architecture and President of Clare Hall at the University of Cambridge. The visit facilitated in-depth discussions on residential college systems and holistic education philosophies.
Professor Desmond Lam, Master of LCWC, along with faculty and students, warmly received the delegation. Professor Lam provided a comprehensive introduction to UM’s unique residential college model, including its facilities and educational principles. Both parties engaged in productive dialogues covering various aspects of collegiate life and interdisciplinary learning, while exploring potential collaborative opportunities.
This visit significantly strengthened the institutional ties between the two universities. It is worth noting that an LCWC delegation is scheduled to make a reciprocal visit to the University of Cambridge and Clare Hall this summer. This upcoming visit will allow firsthand observation of the operations at one of the world’s most prestigious universities, laying solid groundwork for future substantive cooperation between the two institutions.
